South
Pacific - The Concert
Roger and Hamerstein’s Pulitzer winning musical “South
Pacific” is presented for a one-night only performance at the
Lucas Theatre For The Arts in an innovative concert setting format.
A memorable tale of a May-December war-time romance on an island paradise,
South Pacific is considered by many to be one of the best musicals
ever written. The romance between French planter Emile de Becque and
Nellie Forbush, a young American nurse, features unforgettable songs
such as "Some Enchanted Evening," " I'm Gonna' Wash
that Man Right Out of My Hair," "There is Nothing Like a
Dame" and "Bali Ha'I."
Come experience a delightful evening of great musical theater “in
concert” as the Sinfonietta, the Choral Society and special
guest soloists bring the artistry of Roger and Hammerstein’s
musical to life.
