About The Savannah Orchestra
Established in the summer of 2006, The Savannah Orchestra (formerly the Savannah Sinfonietta) is Savannah’s resident professional orchestra. A certified 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the Orchestra was founded with a mission to provide Savannah and surrounding communities with inspiring musical performances throughout the year, in addition to creating artistic educational opportunities for area youth. The Orchestra offers its Masterworks series in multiple venues, including the Landings on Skidway Island, and in Savannah’s Historic District at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church. Now entering its third season, the Orchestra has revived several Savannah musical traditions including the beloved Picnic In Forsyth Park concert; The Annual Messiah Sing-Along, The Valentine's Week Diva/Divo Gala and the annual Marian and Jack Slotin-Levy concert at the Jewish Educational Alliance. The Orchestra’s artists and staff are excited to be an integral part of the return of a professional orchestra to Georgia’s “Hostess City.”

Volunteer Opportunities
We would love have your assistance at any level as a volunteer. We can use a broad range of skills to help in many basic clerical and marketing duties needed to successfully complete our day to day operations. If you would like to discuss how you can get involved with the organization and where your skills can be plugged into our larger mission, then please contact Lorraine Jones at 912.596.7151. Additionally, the following are areas in which the orchestra is currently seeking volunteer assistance with specific needs in mind. If the following are areas of interest and expertise for you , then please contact William Keith at 912.441.7735.

Social Media Guru
Seeking a web 2.0 guru to guide the orchestra in creating, managing and growing its connections to its patrons and audience by using Facebook, MySpace and other social media opportunities. We looking for someone very comfortable with these resources to give guidence and offer hands on work toward helping us successfully utilize these great resources.
Photographer/Videographer
Are you great with a lens no matter what type? We need you! We are looking for a talented photog and videogapher to shoot the orchestra, both in casual and formal settings. There will be opportunities to create a range of media pieces with the related imagery and footage and also work with WSAV TV, who is our television partner in the creation of promo spots this season.
Program Brochure Coordination/Sales
This is a sales oriented opportunity to help the orchestra better develop revenue opportunities from program ad sale. We are looking for someone to sell display advertising and coordinate the production of our concert programs. This will be a revenue split arrangement and is a great opportunity to develop some sigificant ongoing revenue from an advertising opportunity that area businesses are very receptive to supporting.
